An Support Engineer is required to join a growing IT function within, a leading provider of compliance and energy services. This is a dynamic, hands-on role offering the opportunity to provide both remote and on-site technical support across a multi-site organisation.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services, taking ownership of incidents and working through to resolution. This position offers a broad scope, allowing you to contribute ideas, support infrastructure, and gain exposure to a wide range of technologies within a supportive environment.
The Role
As an Support Engineer, you will:
- Provide remote and on-site technical support across hardware and software environments
- Act as an escalation point for Service Desk colleagues
- Log, manage, and resolve incidents in line with ITIL service management processes
- Troubleshoot issues and aim for first-time resolution in line with SLAs
- Maintain ownership of tickets, ensuring clear communication with users
- Support and monitor ICT infrastructure, escalating where required
- Assist with hardware, system administration, and telephony support
- Provide guidance to users on the effective and secure use of IT systems
- Contribute to reporting, analysis, and continuous service improvement
- Stay informed on planned changes and infrastructure updates
Experience Required
- Previous experience in an IT Support / 2nd Line / ICT Technician role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software
- Experience working within ITIL-based environments
- Excellent communication skills with a user-focused approach
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
- Experience with ticketing systems and SLAs
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
Certifications / Requirements
- ITIL Foundation (preferred)
- CompTIA A+ / Network+ (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
