Job OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 sister / charge nurse on our acute cardiology ward at FPH, ward G9 is a 20 bedded ward which cares for cardiac patients with a variety of conditions including patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, bradycardic and tachycardias arrhythmias.In this environment you will need to have a calm but assertive manner and be able to manage a challenging workload. We looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic qualified nurse with strong interpersonal skills to join our team.You will work with the ward manager ensuring the team delivers high standards of patient care. You will also work with the practice development sister in the training and development of staff and be involved in raising the profile of the speciality.Evidence of caring for the cardiac patient together with appropriate knowledge and skills acquired in an acute cardiac environment, evidence of recent professional development and use of evidence based practice, are all essential for the post.A Mentorship Preparation Certificate (e.g. ENB998 or equivalent) and applied experience of teaching, supervising, mentoring and assessing student nurses are also essential.Main duties of the jobTo be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating safe and high quality patient care.To manage patients flow throw cardiology.To provide support to the Unit Manager and deputise when required.To develop and manage a team of nurses.To participate in unit development by implementing innovations.To participate in clinical audits to ensure high standard service is delivered.Working for our organisationFrimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme.
