Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shopkeeper to oversee daily operations of our retail outlet. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing sales and merchandising activities, and ensuring the smooth running of the shop. Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly desirable to cater to our diverse customer base. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining organisational efficiency and driving sales growth within the store environment.

Responsibilities

The Employee will work as a Convenience Store Worker and will perform duties as assigned by the Employer. Duties may include customer service, cashier duties, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness.

• Manage daily shop operations, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Supervise and lead a team of staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Oversee sales management, including achieving sales targets and implementing promotional strategies.
• Organise merchandising displays to optimise product visibility and maximise sales opportunities.
• Maintain accurate administrative records, including stock levels, sales reports, and staff schedules.
• Handle customer enquiries courteously via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Implement effective time management practices to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop environment.
• Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management or shopkeeping roles, with supervisory or team management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and administrative tasks.
• Effective communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly advantageous for engaging diverse customers.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales management, merchandising, and time management strategies.
• Experience with administrative duties related to stock control, reporting, and scheduling.
• Good phone etiquette coupled with organisational skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
