Background:
• Historically IT decisions have been distributed across countries and functions, with some global platforms, regional/ country systems, and functional/ site systems. The One Tech strategy aims to d rive a more consistent and standardised technology organisation, governance model and process.

• Unilever currently operates with a complex IT landscape, with a mix of global plat forms, regional IT systems, and country/sites specific solutions which are owned/operated locally. The total picture of IT spend across Unilever is currently unclear and inconsistent —with a large “shadow IT” estate sitting outside of the global technology organisation.
• These local solutions may have been selected/ implemented/ supported without alignment to Unilever-wide framework/ standards/ requirements.
• This creates additional complexity, cost, etc, and potential exposures to risks, cyber, data, reputational, etc.
• The overall Compass strategy and OneTech strategy are aligned on the need to simplify and drive scale where possible, to enable s harp focus on activities that differentiate and add value. • Some exercises have been carried out to gather data and address this topic, but only with the changes in strategy and roles are we now in a position to really drive the change. • We have secured seed-funding to move forward with this.
Description:
• Thyago Lla no, a Unilever Director, is the UL lead for this initiative — this role will act as “2 in a box” working alongside Thyago.
• The overall role is to manage the delivery of Shadow IT programme of work, comprising: o Identifying, analysing and classifying Shadow IT (spend, systems, suppliers, etc) o Identify treatment path for each shadow IT system— e.g. replace, rationalise, remedial work, continue as-is, etc; o Identify risks to be addressed— e.g. cyber, data, supplier, etc o Establish the processes to manage ongoing Shadow IT— e.g. selection/ implementation/operation of systems in line with OneTech strategy
• Work with Thyagoto select and manage 3″1 party resources to drive the AppRat programme — including establishing their TM 0/PM 0 capability
• Completing the Business Case to secure funding for implementation.
• Establish links to other relevant parts of Unilever — e.g. application finance, service introduction, CMDB, etc
