Senior Hair Stylist
Salary: £26,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
Location: Queens Salon, Newport
Hours: 16 – 40 hours per week (flexible)
Queens is a well-established premium salon located in the heart of Newport, known for delivering exceptional hair and beauty services within a stylish and welcoming environment. We are currently seeking a motivated and commercially minded Hair Stylist who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of building a strong client base. This role would suit someone who enjoys developing their own column, promoting their work, and contributing to the continued growth of a busy salon environment.

We welcome stylists experienced in:
- Precision cutting
- Blow dries and styling
- Colouring including balayage, highlights and creative colour work
- Occasion and bridal hair
- Hair extensions
- Specialist or niche treatments
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering high-quality consultations and tailored services to every client
- Building and retaining a strong client base through excellent service and relationships
- Managing your appointment column efficiently to maximise productivity
- Actively promoting your work through social media and personal branding
- Supporting the salon’s marketing activity and contributing ideas for promotions or campaigns
- Advising clients on aftercare and professional retail products
- Helping drive product sales and repeat bookings
- Maintaining excellent salon presentation and professional standards
- Staying current with industry trends and techniques
About You
You are someone who takes pride in delivering great results for clients and understands the commercial side of working in a busy salon. You enjoy growing your client base, promoting your work, and being part of a team that is focused on delivering both quality and consistency.
You will ideally have:
- Minimum 4 years’ salon experience
- Strong technical ability across a range of services
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confidence promoting your work through social media platforms
- A proactive and organised approach to managing your column
- An interest in contributing to the growth and reputation of the salon
- A professional and positive attitude
- Flexibility to support evening and weekend trading
