What to Expect

Gates Dumfries is one of the UK’s long‑established manufacturing sites of Gates (U.K.) Limited, headquartered in Dumfries. The company specializes in the manufacture of rubber-based industrial products. As part of Gates’ global industrial network, the Dumfries site contributes to a company employing over 400 people in the UK.

The Sales Correspondent provides the office-based communication link between Customer & Company handing orders, price and delivery enquiries, promptly and efficiently. Constand liasion with various internal functions and other Gates facilities ensures specific customer requirements are met.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Customer Service / Warehouse Tasks – Manage customer deliveries and communications.
• Shop orders for single boxing – Creating production orders, issuing plans to production.
• Stock split; support creating warehouse tasks for shipping.
• Print labels for shipments; manage replenishment and inventory of GM and Renault labelling.
• Manage key customers, customer packaging and KLTs; ordering, inventory management and replenishment.
• Inward goods booking in; end pieces replenishment and inventory.
• Customer complaints.
• Manage customer portal.

• Requires specialized skills or is multi-skilled developed through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
• Completes work with a limited degree of supervision
• Applies knowledge of how the team integrates with other teams to achieve objectives
• Provides solutions to atypical problems based on proven practices or procedures
• Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team; recommends changes to improve efficiency
• Explains job specific information

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None
• Likely to act as an informal resource for associates with less experience
• Provides informal guidance and support to team members

Requirements And Preferred Skills

• 2-4 years of experience
• No degree requirements
• At least Standard Grade level (or equivalent) education plus relevant experience within a customer service environment.
• Must have logical and methodical way of working to facilitate cross-over between correspondents.
• Must be able to always communicate effectively and professionally.
