Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Road Sweeper Driver to join our team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating street cleaning equipment to maintain cleanliness and safety across designated areas. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. Candidates with previous commercial driving or delivery driver experience are encouraged to apply. The position offers full-time employment with paid hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate road sweeping machinery safely and efficiently across various routes in Cambridge
- Conduct routine inspections of the equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Follow scheduled routes and adhere to traffic regulations and safety standards
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment or materials when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and route logs
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle after each shift and report any damages or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with roadsweepers
- Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles
- Previous experience as a Roadsweeper is advantageous
- Ability to operate specialised street cleaning machinery with confidence and safety awareness
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, follow schedules, and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to urban road maintenance
