Quality Improvement Facilitator – Planned Care Full Time

The Clinical Governance and Quality function is an NHS Borders wide support service based within the Borders General Hospital. The function has a responsibility for leading and supporting a range of quality improvement activities centred on the delivery of safe, effective and person centred care.

The Quality Improvement Facilitator post is an exciting opportunity for someone to lead the programme of Quality Improvement work centred on the effective delivery of planned care across NHS Borders. The post holder will work with local and national stakeholders to guide the programme and ensure deliverables are met. The postholder will have exceptional interpersonal skills, advanced skills in improvement methodology and project management.

As a team leader within the Clinical Governance and Quality department the post holder will also be required on occasions to support the wider portfolio of work within the department.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a “regulated role”, your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
