Python Software Engineer – Quantitative Hedge Fund : £70-100k Full Time

They’re expanding their core engineering team and are seeking a Junior Level (1-4 years experience) Python Software Engineer to help design and build the next generation of research, data, and trading infrastructure.

You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, data, and quantitative research, partnering directly with researchers and portfolio managers to create scalable systems that power high-performance trading and analytics.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement robust Python systems for data ingestion, modelling, and strategy research.
• Optimize and scale quantitative pipelines for speed, transparency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with world-class quants and data scientists to bring research ideas to production.
• Contribute to architectural design and best practices for distributed systems and cloud-based compute.

What We’re Looking For

• Computer Science degree from a top university
• 1-4 years of professional experience as a Python developer, ideally within high-performance, data-heavy environments.
• Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, PySpark, or similar data frameworks.
• Exposure to financial data, trading systems, or quantitative research is highly advantageous
• Passion for clean, performant code and continuous technical improvement.
