Packaging Operator Full Time NEW

71 Brewing has a fantastic opportunity for a packaging and brewery operative to join one of the fastest growing craft breweries in Scotland.

Based in the characterful surroundings of the old Blackness Ironworks in central Dundee you will be working with over 700hL (and growing) of fermentation capacity, brand new MicroCan CP10 canning line, and brand new taproom and events and arts space.

Target start date:

• Early May preferable

Ideal Qualifications

• Internationally recognised brewing qualification and/or science degree
• Experience working with packaging equipment
• 2+ years brewery experience
• Good mechanical aptitude
• FLT license

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Following standard operating procedures for canning and kegging beer to stringent QA standards
• Maintaining a meticulous standard of data logging and record keeping through our brewery production software
• Assist in performing finished product inventory counting and physical movements as directed by Production Manager
• Ensure the cleanliness, efficiency and functionality of brewery equipment
• Maintain high standards of health and safety

Skill and Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of, and a passion for, craft beer and the brewing industry
• Good verbal and written communication
• Strong work ethic and can-do attitude
• Familiarity with operating or maintaining machinery is a bonus

Personal Competencies

• Remain calm under pressure or when dealing with unexpected production delays or changes
• Be a strong and trusting team player
• Good problem solving skills

Hours, Travel and Physical Requirements

• Weekdays, early mornings and/or evenings
• Our shifts during busy periods are 6am-2pm, and 10am-6pm
• Work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Ability to work in heat, cold and wet
• Ability to lift 25kg repeatedly, ability to lift >50kg periodically
• Physically able and willing to drive a forklift (with training if required)
