Overseeing the bed allocation processes and team whilst troubleshooting issues as they arise. Alongside this you will need to have an inquisitive character so as to find ways of improving our services for the future.This role gives you the breadth to understand a huge number of specialist services and the autonomy to innovate and collaborate directly with clinicians for the benefit of many children.The skills you will need to thrive in this job will be problem solving and managing a variety of tasks often in quick succession. The ability to look up and ahead to spot issues and use a range of strategies to address those.You will be part of a senior leadership team working closely every day with our Children’s Hospital Matrons and line managed by the Care Group Manager.Person specificationQualifications, Knowledge And ExperienceEssential criteriaBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceEvidence of continued study / professional development to post graduate level or able to demonstrate experience to this levelLeadership trainingManagement trainingExperience of working in a leadership position in a busy operational delivery / management role within a healthcare or similar environmentEvidence of communicating and presenting a variety of complex or contentious information in a range of formats e.g. presentations, reports, to different audiences (both individuals and groups)Evidence of undertaking a key role in change management initiativesDemonstrates experience of providing a pragmatic and business focussed approach in guiding and advising colleaguesDay to day staff management experience (e.g. work allocation, recruitment, appraisals, other HR related issues)Demonstrates knowledge of national and local NHS targets, initiatives and standards and how they impact upon delivery of patient care e.g. NICE guidanceAbility to analyse and interpret a variety of complex data to facilitate operational decisions and to support delivery of key performance targetsFinancial and/or budgetary management knowledgeAbility to analyse complex problems and develop practical and workable solutions to address themComputer literacy at least to intermediate level across a range of Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel)Desirable criteriaProject Management QualificationKnowledge / understanding of specialist areaUnderstanding of financial initiatives in the NHS (e.g. CQUIN, Cost Improvement Programmes)Trust ValuesEssential criteriaPatients FirstAlways ImprovingWorking Together
