An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Track Academy as a Mentor. Track Academy is an education, mentoring, and sports charity that uses sport as a powerful tool to engage young people and develop essential life skills.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated mentor who can support our student-athletes, positively influence behaviour, and provide guidance where needed. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping young people realise their potential and become more than the circumstances they are born into.
Track Academy is made up of former international athletes, coaches, mentors, teachers, business professionals, and committed volunteers. We share a strong belief that sport and education together can empower and transform young people’s lives.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with children and young people and helping identify patterns of behaviour. As a mentor, your role is to guide them and help young people reach their full potential. You listen and help young people find solutions to their problems. As a mentor, you maintain the privacy and confidentiality of each individual and update the education and mentoring department directly to support any positive behaviour changes. You will use your safeguarding knowledge at all moments of your role. You plan, assess, prioritise, review goals and take action plans when you are doing your one-to-one mentoring session.
You will work closely with the Education and Mentoring Coordinator to ensure that you achieve sustainable outcomes and have a positive impact on our student-athletes. Keeping track of young people’s growth and helping file administration of your sessions will be an essential part of your role. Mentors are expected to build relationships with the parents and answer any queries they may have. You will be working alongside coaches and tutors who will help identify which student-athletes need mentoring and further assistance.
