We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.Detailed Job Description And Main ResponsibilitiesThe Maternity Service provides maternity support workers with a privileged opportunity to work with NEST midwives caring for women, birthing people, babies and families who require additional support.The post holder will assist and deliver care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postnatal periods, providing physical, psychological and emotional care and support, within the remit of the role.We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individual who works well in a high-pressured environment and has recent experience of a hospital or community healthcare setting. The role will include weekday and weekend shifts. The ability to work in a team, engaging and communicating well with others is essential. The whole team has been so supportive of my career progression and I am excited to see where this opportunity takes me.Person specificationQualifications, Knowledge And ExperienceEssential criteriaRecent experience as a carer in a healthcare settingLevel 3 qualification in healthcare, e.g. NVQ, Diploma or equivalentNumeracy and literacy skills at level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or above) or equivalent as a minimum standardPrevious experience in a hospital or community medical settingAble to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protectionSelf-motivated and, conscientiousAware of personal limitationsWilling to engage with and learn from peersDesirable criteriaProficient in phlebotomy with recent experienceCare Certificate qualification or commitment to undertakingCommitment to undertaking additional training corresponding to specialityExperience of a maternity service or similarEvidence of continuous professional developmentTrust ValuesEssential criteriaPatient FirstWorking TogetherAlways Improving
