Materials Engineer – Graduate or Junior Full Time

About The Job

Genesis Materials & Corrosion team are currently looking for a recent graduate or an early career engineer working towards Chartership to join the team in the UK permanently.

The purpose of the job is to produce deliverables under the direction/supervision of a Lead/Principal Engineer.

This involves performing materials selection and corrosion assessment-related studies and assisting in the performance of Engineering and Field Development projects, for Upstream, Downstream, Renewables, Low Carbon Energy Markets.

Accountabilities And Responsibilities

• Assist with Engineering Studies (Corrosion Assessments and Materials Selections)
• Running of proprietary software & design packages.
• Performing engineering calculations (e.g., corrosion & erosion).
• Production of project engineering documents (e.g., Materials Selection, Corrosion Management).
• Production of technical notes for reporting of study results.
• Assist with preparation, checking, or approving Engineering deliverables.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• First Degree in Materials Engineering (minimum).
• Experience in relevant materials-related placements or employment, preferably, not necessarily in the Energy Sector.
• Good Communicator and strong team player.

Required Competencies

• Understanding of materials types, materials selection and performance assessment.
• Able to contribute to maintaining good relationships with internal and external clients.
• Be able to work independently in a team environment.
• Demonstrate repeatability and constant improvement in activities undertaken across various geographic, technical, and cultural differences.
• Able to assist in the application and maintenance of engineering processes, systems, and tools (software).
• Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS Office software.
• Full command of the English language written and spoken.
