Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Educational Development within UCD Teaching and Learning.
UCD Teaching and Learning (UCD T&L) is a central support unit within the Office of the Registrar and Deputy President. Our mission is to foster a culture of continuous enhancement of teaching and learning – supporting staff to deliver inclusive, innovative and research-informed teaching that leads to engaging and meaningful learning experiences for all UCD students. We work collaboratively and cross-functionally to address practical issues of enhancement of teaching and the student learning environment. In all our activities we aim to ensure that approaches to teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum design are based on current research and international good practice. The Unit’s current programme of work is orientated towards the development and implementation of key actions within the UCD Strategy to 2030 – Breaking Boundaries.
Applications are now invited for the permanent position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) in Educational Development. The post holder will contribute expertise to the design and delivery of the unit’s professional development activities aimed at those with a teaching role within the university, including its accredited programmes. They will have a vision and capacity to carry out independent research in the area of pedagogy/ teaching and learning in higher education. They will also work on a range of strategic projects at programme/school/university level to support UCD to deliver an enhanced and distinctive educational experience. Initial areas of focus will include curriculum design, Generative AI, assessment and feedback, authentic and inclusive learning, empowering students, along with the scholarship of teaching and learning.
95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar (7943) Salary Scale: €65,401 – €103,564 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
