About us
The Corner Bagel is a new bagel and coffee kiosk opening on a busy corner next to Chalk Farm Station. We’ll be serving bagels, speciality coffee and grab-and-go food to commuters, locals and visitors.
We’re looking for a reliable, confident and hard-working Kiosk Operator & Barista who can help run the kiosk to a high standard. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be opening up, serving customers, making coffee and bagels, keeping the kiosk clean and closing down properly.
For normal daytime trade, you may often be working alone, so we need someone trustworthy, organised and comfortable taking responsibility.
The role
This is not just a standard café job. You’ll be trusted to help run a small, busy food and coffee kiosk as if it were your own.
You’ll be responsible for delivering great customer service, making consistent bagels and coffee, keeping the kiosk clean and organised, managing stock and following food hygiene standards at all times.
Full training will be provided on the menu, coffee, equipment and daily routines.
What we’re looking for
The right person will be:
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable with early starts
- Confident working alone
- Friendly, calm and quick with customers
- Trustworthy and accountable
- Organised and able to manage time well
- Clean, tidy and serious about food hygiene
- Comfortable handling stock, POS and opening/closing duties
- Able to work well under pressure during busy periods
Essential requirements
- Good spoken English
- Strong reliability and timekeeping
- Confidence working independently
- A positive, friendly attitude
- Willingness to follow systems and routines
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate, or willingness to complete one
Nice to have
- Barista experience
- Latte art skills
- Experience in coffee, food-to-go, street food, cafés or hospitality
- Experience using a POS system
- An interest in social media content
No experience with our exact setup is required. The most important things are attitude, reliability, trustworthiness and pride in doing the job properly
