Junior Financial Controller Full Time NEW

Location: London/Hybrid

Working pattern: Full-Time – 40 hours/week

Report to: Sr. Regional Financial Controller

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and aspiring Accountant to join a collaborative, multicultural and fast-growing international business. Trained and mentored by an experienced group finance team the Junior Financial Controller will support the provision of institutional level assurance on the efficiency and effectiveness of ASE financial controls, undertaking such work as required to deliver truly value adding improvements to internal controls and governance to protect its value, the function is pivotal in successfully delivering these objectives, driving effective changes as well as designing, embedding and delivering processes for our future control and assurance needs.The role will provide broad exposure to a wide range of tasks and activities, while offering the necessary support to ensure success and development.

Job Responsibilities:

1 Financial control, report and audit

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, include prepayments, accruals, depreciation/amortisation, as well as intercompany transactions. 
• Monthly financial reconciliations, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled at the end of each month with individual balance properly explained/documented by BD 10 after end of each month 
• Process and reconcile intercompany entries to enable seamless consolidation
• Assist with audit process, ensure queries are resolved within a reasonable timeframe with necessary evidence provided 
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts for both individual entity and consolidated group accounts as per local compliance requirements 
• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of loan schedules
• Perform regular reviews of ledgers to identify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and resolving them proactively
• Supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journals, auditable documentation and variance analysis

2 Taxation 

• Assist with indirect tax matters management, include import/export, VAT returns and associated VAT administrative works
• Maintain monthly VAT reconciliations for approximately 55 legal entities
• Support the timely preparation of relevant income tax returns under appropriate supervision
• Managing day‑to‑day communications with tax and other relevant authorities.

3 Other responsibilities 

• Manage IBV (Independent Bank Verification) entry for all bank accounts, validate new and/or changes prior to system update
• Extracting data and preparing management and operational reports as required
• Supporting contract management activities
• Other ad-hoc tasks when required 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional accounting qualification
• Minimum of two year experience in an accounting or finance role
• Previous exposure to German GAAP and the German tax system would be beneficial
• Fluency in English essential, some knowledge of German is an advantage
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
• Experience using NetSuite accounting software advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with well‑developed analytical skills
• Proactive work style with ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Managing own workload and priorities independently in a high‑volume environment
• Acting as a reliable operational finance contact for routine queries related to assigned entities
