Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive, target-driven, and relationship-focused Junior Business Development Executive to support learner mobilisation and employer engagement across our funded programmes.

This role is best suited to someone who already has experience in learner recruitment, outreach, employability, employer engagement, apprenticeship or bootcamp enrolment, or funded training environments, and who is comfortable working across both community-led mobilisation and employer-facing activity.

This role has two core areas of focus:

• 70% community and partner-led learner mobilisation
• 30% employer partnerships and employer engagement

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being externally focused, building local networks, managing active pipelines, and turning outreach activity into enrolments, interviews, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Community and Partner-led Learner Mobilisation (70%)

• Build and maintain relationships with alumni, Jobcentre Plus, community groups, local authorities, housing associations, referral partners, and other local stakeholder networks to generate learner enrolments.
• Develop repeatable local channels that support consistent learner mobilisation across funded programmes and regional cohorts.
• Conduct outreach through calls, email, LinkedIn, in-person visits, events, careers fairs, and partner engagement activity.
• Work closely with internal teams to move prospective learners from enquiry through screening, eligibility checks, application, and enrolment.
• Provide clear and accurate information to prospective learners on programme suitability, outcomes, expectations, and next steps.
• Maintain momentum across the learner pipeline by tracking enquiries, follow-ups, conversions, and starts.
• Identify and address drop-off points within the learner journey to improve enrolment conversion.

Employer Partnerships and Employer Engagement (30%)

• Build and manage relationships with employers who can support interviews, placements, work opportunities, and entry-level hiring across IT Support, Cloud, Data, Cyber Security, and Software.
• Develop new employer leads through outreach, referrals, repeat engagement, networking, and local market activity.
• Support employer conversations that translate into real opportunities for learners and measurable programme outcomes.
• Work with internal teams to match learner profiles with employer demand and hiring opportunities.
• Support structured outreach through LinkedIn, email, and telephone activity, maintaining strong follow-up discipline.
• Capture employer intelligence and engagement activity accurately within CRM or pipeline tracking systems.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Experience in business development, learner recruitment, enrolment, employer engagement, outreach, partnerships, employability, or sales
• Experience in a training provider, apprenticeship, employability, FE, skills bootcamp, workforce development, or funded programme environment
• Experience building relationships with community organisations, referral partners, local stakeholders, or employer networks
• Experience working to targets linked to enquiries, enrolments, starts, interviews, placements, or similar measurable outcomes
• Strong ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and maintain consistent follow-up activity
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, and maintain momentum across multiple active workstreams
• Good working knowledge of CRM systems, Excel, Microsoft Office, or pipeline tracking tools
• Willingness to travel across Greater London and other UK locations when required

Desirable

• Experience working with DfE-funded programmes, ESFA-funded provision, ASF-funded programmes, Skills Bootcamps, apprenticeships, or employability contracts
• Experience with learner suitability checks, programme eligibility, IAG, or enrolment conversion
• Experience working with Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, housing associations, or community-based referral ecosystems
• Experience supporting employer engagement linked to entry-level hiring or apprenticeship opportunities
• Understanding of compliance expectations in training or employability environments, including GDPR, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping
