A large County Council in the East of England is appointing an interim Deputy Assistant Director (Education Inclusion) to maintain momentum across a programme of SEND and inclusion improvement, while providing senior operational capacity to support delivery and performance. This role exists to create bandwidth at the top: enabling the Assistant Director to focus on system-level transformation, partnerships and strategic priorities, while you drive day-to-day improvement activity.
What you’ll focus on (momentum and delivery):
- Driving service improvement and KPI traction that is already showing early “green shoots” of progress.
- Supporting the ongoing service redesign and keeping operational delivery moving at pace.
- Taking on the “day-to-day improvement engine” so the Assistant Director can lead the wider strategic work with partners (health, schools) and broader transformation.
- Operating as a credible, practical senior leader who can balance improvement with operational reality.
