Job Overview
The main focus of the job is to process financial information as per procedures for a large acute hospital. Working unsupervised, completing necessary returns, and in conjunction with other departments both internally and externally.
Use initiative in dealing with varied questions and instigate enquiries for staff, patients and visitors.
Works to deadlines and standards in all tasks to fulfil national audit requirements.
Provides assistance and advice to staff, patients and visitors regarding donations, payments, etc.
Main duties of the job
Planning and organising of complex duties of the Cashiers office within a large Trust that has an annual account turnover of nearly two million pounds in cheques and one million in cash.
Banking, inputting and balancing of cash, cheques and credit cards in daily income for large hospital site with an annual turnover of approximately three million.
Balancing daily and monthly of petty cash for same with an annual turnover of approximately £150,000 and receiving, inputting and banking of charitable fund donations over a million pounds annually.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Ordering and issuing of train and flight tickets for staff at large hospital. Checking and verifying their requests plus following through dealing with various problems and delays involved (over 50 flight and rail travel arrangements annually to the value of £3500.00.
Approving electronically of Invoices for above orders and liaising with external companies to solve queries.
Stocking and issuing of FP10 pads (prescriptions) to three hospitals in Trust and keeping signature list for this and maintaining security procedures. (Approx. 400 + pads issued annually).
Liaising with external solicitors and insurance companies regarding payments received.
Maintaining accurate and easily assessable documentation – supporting all transactions undertaken to enable audit examination and scrutiny if required.
