Hourly rate: Negotiable depending on experience

SALARY: £31,100 or above depending on age and experience.

Weekly hours: 7am to 5pm, Mon to Thursday, 7am to 4.30pm Friday, plus very occasional weekend work watering during dry weather by agreement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to our continued success and expansion, Bannister Hall Landscape Supplies are looking for an enthusiastic green fingered individual with a can-do, hard working, pro active attitude to join the team at our plant production site in Walton Le Dale in Preston.

From our production site, we grow and trade in a wide variety of trees, plants and shrubs. We supply landscapers, local authorities, and property developers, in conjunction with our other retail site based on Potter Lane, which stocks specimen plants and a large variety of landscaping and building materials.

JOB ROLE:

This role would involve, potting and watering trees and shrubs, placing out plants on beds and in glasshouses for growing on, preparing orders and loading onto delivery vehicles and all manner of nursery husbandry.

Some experience would be preferred but having a cheerful positive attitude is the most essential ingredient. You must be willing to work outside in all weathers and be physically fit and strong enough to lift and move heavy plants around.

HOURS

7.00/5pm Mon to Thurs, Early 4.30pm finish on Friday’s – occasional weekend work also available for watering during dry weather by agreement.

SALARY

31.1k or above depending on age and experience.

HOLIDAYS

20 days plus bank holidays

The Ideal Candidate:

· An underlying interest in plants and horticulture would be helpful to succeed in this role.

· The ability to work in a team to help organise plant dispatch.

· Excellent customer service along with a passion to improve and develop our plant range and quality.

· Good attention to detail and the ability to use your own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks in hand.

· Willingness to carry out a full range of manual tasks including potting, watering, weeding, pruning, loading and unloading of vehicles, and general site maintenance.
