We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life’s uncertainties with confidence.AXA Healthcare International offers global healthcare support and protection to individuals and businesses in more than 200 countries, building on over 55 years of experience through its international hubs.Job OverviewThe Head of MAXIS Reinsurance Portfolio will be responsible for managing the MAXIS Central Reinsurance Portfolio in all its dimensions: underwriting, actuarial, legal and compliance, with full accountability on its financial results (P&L responsibility). They will also handle the relationship with our partner, MetLife, and with MAXIS GBN, our 50/50 JV with MetLife. The objectives will be to steer profitability and manage the risks pertaining to this portfolio within AXA Healthcare International to maximise its value for AXA; (GWP, UE, technical result, financial income.) Guide the value generated by MAXIS within AXA Members (local entities) and support them in maximising this value whilst managing the relationship with MetLife and MAXIS GBN to ensure an alignment is reached on shared topics.Key ResponsibilitiesManagement of 2 direct reports whose roles are focused on underwriting topics and will rely on dedicated actuarial, controlling, legal, and compliance resources sitting within their respective teams.Oversee delegation to MAXIS GBN, review underwriting cases outside delegation, contribute to writing/validation of legal documents. Review of Maxis underwriting framework, including risk appetite and guidelines.Coordinate AXA’s interactions within the MAXIS ecosystem to set and agree targets & monitor achievement.Embark AXA Health employees into MAXIS topics, building understanding of MAXIS business within AXA Health and engaging virtual teams to contribute to actively managing the MAXIS portfolio.Accountable for ensuring the MAXIS portfolio is managed in accordance with all legal, compliance and regulatory requirements, in conjunction with the General Secretary function and that Risk in the MAXIS portfolio is actively managed.Member of MAXIS Reinsurance committee & Member of MAXIS GBN Board Member of AXA Healthcare International ExCom, representing the MAXIS portfolio.Work ArrangementsAt AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.Your Skills & ExperienceDemonstrable experience in a (re)insurance company or group, either in Finance, Risk Management, or Underwriting.Good understanding of underwriting practices and pricing of Life & Health EB products ideally in several countries and of insurance/reinsurance contracts from a business and legal standpoint.Good knowledge of Solvency II metrics and regulation (with a specific focus on UK regulation).Engaging leadership with strong influencing ability to embark teams and manage deliverables through indirect management.Ability to interact with a wide range of correspondents at various levels of management including senior executives of AXA Healthcare International and Board members internally, and external partners (Metlife in JV relationship) regulators and public authorities externally.Politically astute navigating stakeholder groups, with the ability to build strong relationships and business partnering.Ability to work autonomously and lead a virtual cross functional team (indirect management).Proven high reliability, quality and timeliness of deliverables with project management capabilities.As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.How To ApplyTo apply, click on the ‘apply now’ button, you’ll then need to log in or create a profile to submit your CV.
