Role Description

As the Head of Performing Arts at Welling school, you will lead and manage the Performing Arts curriculum, fostering creativity and high-quality teaching across every level. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering an engaging curriculum, mentoring and supporting teaching staff, monitoring progress to ensure outstanding attainment, and organizing performances and extracurricular opportunities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Welling, where you will contribute to the vision of inspiring learners and nurturing talent in the heart of the school community.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Performing Arts, with experience in designing and delivering curriculum content
• Proficiency in team leadership, staff management, and mentoring to ensure effective departmental performance
• Knowledge of assessment practices and ability to monitor and improve student outcomes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage and coordinate performances, events, and extracurricular activities
• Passion for creative education and the ability to inspire both students and staff
• Experience working in educational environments or with similar school structures
• Relevant degree in Performing Arts, Education, or a related field, with teaching qualifications
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils, with an understanding of child protection policies
