This is a voluntary position, ideal for someone looking to build experience in a senior communications role within football, give back to the game, or contribute their skills to a meaningful, ambitious club project.

The Role:

As Head of Media & Communications, you’ll be responsible for setting and delivering the club’s media strategy, managing press relations, driving digital content, and helping grow the club’s profile locally and beyond. You’ll also play a key role in building and leading a dedicated team of media volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the club’s overall media and communications strategy
• Lead all media operations on matchdays, including social media updates, interviews, and post-match content
• Manage digital content across website, social media, and video platforms
• Build and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets
• Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of volunteer media staff and content creators
• Coordinate with players, coaching staff, and club officials for content and messaging
• Uphold the club’s brand values through consistent, engaging, and professional communication
• Monitor trends and fan engagement to guide content and strategy
• Act as the club’s spokesperson when required

What We’re Looking For:

• A background in media, communications, journalism, or a related field (professional or voluntary)
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
• Digital and social media savvy, with an eye for creative content
• Leadership qualities and experience managing people or volunteers
• Ability to work collaboratively, handle sensitive information, and meet deadlines
• Passion for football and a belief in the power of sport to inspire and connect communities
