Main Purpose of Role

At Dimplex, we’ve been bringing comfort, warmth and smart home innovation to millions of households for generations. Now we’re entering the next chapter; building a best-in-class Direct-to-Consumer experience that makes it easier than ever for customers to choose, buy and enjoy Dimplex products. The Head of D2C will lead this transformation. You’ll launch and scale our new Shopify ecommerce platform, own the full online commercial engine, and shape how customers experience Dimplex in a digital-first world. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends strategy, creativity and commercial leadership.

Key Accountabilities

Own & Evolve our D2C Platform:

• Lead the build, launch and ongoing optimisation of our new Shopify store.
• Ensure a fast, reliable and beautifully simple shopping experience.
• Drive the roadmap for new features, integrations and site improvements.

Grow The Channel

• Deliver the online trading calendar, seasonal moments, product launches and promotions.
• Own D2C P&L, revenue and forecasting that balances growth and margin.
• Use insight and analytics to continually refine performance.

Bring Customer To Our Door

• Partner with performance marketing to drive high-quality traffic across paid, organic and partner channels.
• Shape landing experiences that convert interest into sales.
• Monitor key acquisition metrics including ROAS, conversion and CAC.

Build Relationships That Last

• Lead the CRM and lifecycle strategy across email, SMS and automation.
• Develop segmentation and personalised journeys that drive loyalty and lifetime value.
• Turn data into meaningful, actionable customer insight.

Shape The Product Experience

• Define online assortment, pricing and merchandising strategy.
• Ensure products standout with strong imagery, content, categorisation and navigation.
• Partner with Product and Supply Chain on demand planning and availability.

Champion a Seamless Customer Journey

• Map and optimise every step from browse to delivery and beyond.
• Lead CRO, A/B testing and UX enhancements to continually lift conversion.
• Ensure customer service and post-purchase moments feel simple, supportive and on-brand.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Work closely with Supply Chain and operational teams to optimise fulfilment, delivery and returns.
• Continuously improve delivery proposition and operational KPIs.
• Monitor returns, service quality and delivery performance

Lead Our Digital Infrastructure

• Manage the D2C technology ecosystem, such as: Shopify integrations, ERP, PIM, CRM and payment solutions.
• Oversee QA, testing cycles and site releases.
• Maintain secure, compliant and resilient operations.

Protect The Brand

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, ecommerce regulations and accessibility standards.
• Safeguard pricing integrity, brand presentations and customer data security.

Lead, Inspire & Collaborate

• Build and develop a high-performing D2C team.
• Manage external partners, agencies and tech suppliers.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and innovation.

Shape The Future

• Build the long-term D2C growth strategy and innovation pipeline.
• Stay ahead of trends in ecommerce, home heating/cooling, climate and smart home retail.
• Support omnichannel alignment with retail and wholesale partners.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven leadership in ecommerce or D2C within consumer electronics, retail or appliances.
• Strong Shopify or ecommerce platform experience.
• Deep expertise across trading, CRM, CRO, merchandising and acquisition.
• A data-driven mindset with sharp commercial instincts.
• Confident cross-functional leadership and project management.
• Experience scaling digital revenue and building strong teams.
