About The Role
We are seeking an Assistant Graphic Designer to join our Construction South division, based in Weybridge and Dartford. This entry-level position is ideal for a motivated and creative individual eager to develop their skills in graphic design within the construction industry. In this role, you will support the bid team by assisting in the creation of compelling visual content for bid submissions, which are critical documents used to secure new construction projects. Working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer, Proposal Managers, and Bid Managers, you will help translate complex technical information into visually engaging and clear layouts that meet client and project-specific requirements.
The role offers hands-on guidance and mentorship, providing an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a solid foundation in visual storytelling, layout design, and stakeholder collaboration. You will gain exposure to live bid environments, learning how to balance creativity with strategic messaging and deadlines. This position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and effective communication, making it an excellent stepping stone for a career in graphic design or visual communications within the construction sector.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of graphic design principles and tools, with proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). A relevant qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. The candidate should demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in bid or proposal design is advantageous but not required, as full training will be provided.
