About the Role
The Graduations Assistant role in Glasgow involves supporting Summer Graduation Ceremonies from 23rd June to 3rd July. You will work Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm, on a temporary contract paying £13.45 per hour. As a welcoming first point of contact for students and guests, you will help ensure ceremonies run smoothly. Graduation Assistant (Summer Graduation Ceremonies)Location: GlasgowContract: Temporary 23rd June to 3rd JulyHours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pmPay Rate: £13.45 per hourJob PurposeOur client is seeking to recruit a team of enthusiastic and professional Graduation Assistants to support the delivery of their Summer Graduation Ceremonies.Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide a welcoming first point of contact for graduating students and their guests, helping to ensure that ceremonies run smoothly and efficiently.You will develop and maintain a working knowledge of graduation procedures and associated administrative processes, providing guidance and support to students throughout their graduation experience.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesCheck and verify degree parchments for accuracyAllocate graduation guest tickets in accordance with established proceduresSign in graduating students and maintain accurate attendance recordsIdentify and resolve student enquiries and issues within agreed guidelinesEscalate complex issues to Graduation Staff where appropriateAssist with queue management and crowd flow to minimise bottlenecks and support the smooth running of eventsProvide information, guidance and assistance to students and guests throughout the ceremoniesContribute positively to the overall graduation experience by delivering a high standard of customer serviceKnowledge, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceYou will be able to demonstrate:Experience of participating in or supporting large-scale events Experience of working effectively as part of a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong numeracy and literacy skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailAn enthusiastic, helpful and approachable mannerExperience of delivering high-quality customer service, including providing direct support, advice and guidanceThe ability to deal sensitively with students, exercising tact, diplomacy and discretionThe ability to remain calm, professional and organised under pressureRecently graduated from university or have experience of working within a higher education environment would be advantageousAbout YouWe are looking for individuals who are reliable, organised and committed to providing an excellent experience for graduating students and their guests.
