Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Handy Man to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving various facilities and equipment across our premises. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and excellent customer service abilities. The Handy Man will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, providing timely solutions to maintenance issues, and supervising junior staff when necessary.

Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Repair and replace faulty wiring, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards.
• Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required to repair or modify equipment or structures.
• Read and understand technical schematics to diagnose issues accurately.
• Oversee maintenance projects, supervising junior staff or contractors when needed.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in organising preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools and power tools for repairs.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding PLC programming.
• Welding skills for fabricating or repairing metal components.
• Maintenance expertise across various building systems.
• Leadership qualities with previous supervising experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Customer service orientation with a professional approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
