Full Time Support Workers required!

Salary: £28,475.20 per annum (£14.80 per hour) 23 days paid annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

Location: North London (Islington/Camden)

Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week

Please note evenings, weekend and bank holiday work may be required.

As a Support Worker, you will provide support to service users to ensure their safety, health and wellbeing as well as:

· To ensure service users integration and participation in their local community

· Assist with developing a range of friendships and relationships

· To ensure service users have informed personal choice

· Assist service users to maximise their range of skills and competencies

· Boost service users confidence and self-esteem

· Offer person centred support to service users in line with their individual and cultural preferences, day to day and long-term needs; including but not limited to social and leisure activities, health needs and appointments, personal care and domestic duties.

· Include service users in day-to-day and long-term decision making

· Work within a multidisciplinary team

· Act as a keyworker to individual service users.

· Keep accurate and up to date records and reports in relation to service users, in line with the systems and procedures in place at the project.

· Take responsibility for shift leading as and when needed.

Personal specification:

· Willing and able to offer physical support to service users including personal care and manual handling

· Aware of issues affecting people with learning disabilities

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· The ability to work and contribute within a team

· The ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative

· Enthusiastic and motivated

· Preferred: PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) experience
