Freelance Medical WriterPreferred expertise in Gastroenterology | Travel primarily to Spain or Sweden requiredWe are looking for a freelance Medical Writer to support the development of professional medical and scientific meeting reports, as well as other high-quality scientific communication materials. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in medical writing, with preferred expertise in gastroenterology, and the flexibility to travel primarily to Spain or Sweden to cover congresses, meetings, and other live scientific events when needed.Key responsibilitiesPrepare professional medical and scientific meeting reports based on congresses, advisory boards, internal meetings, and other scientific eventsAttend selected meetings and congresses onsite to capture key discussions, presentations, and insights accuratelyDevelop clear, accurate, and well-structured scientific content for reports, summaries, slide decks, and related materialsTranslate complex scientific data and meeting outcomes into concise, audience-appropriate documents while maintaining medical accuracyCollaborate with internal teams, medical experts, and clients to ensure reports reflect key objectives and scientific messagingConduct literature searches and support reference validation where neededEnsure all materials are delivered in line with project briefs, timelines, and compliance requirementsPreferred profileProven experience as a Medical Writer, ideally in a freelance capacityStrong experience in developing medical and scientific meeting reportsPreferred therapeutic area experience in gastroenterologyExcellent scientific writing skills in English, with strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently, manage deadlines, and produce polished, professional reports under time-sensitive conditionsWillingness and ability to travel primarily to Spain or Sweden to attend and cover scientific meetings and congressesExperience in congress reporting or live event coverage is highly preferredRequirementsBackground in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or a related scientific fieldPrevious experience in medical communications, scientific writing, or healthcare-related content developmentStrong organizational, communication, and reporting skillsAvailability on a freelance/project basisNice to haveExperience working with pharmaceutical or healthcare clientsFamiliarity with compliance-driven medical communicationsExperience supporting international or regional scientific events
