Trainee Fire Extinguisher Technician
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our growing fire and security team covering Moray, Aberdeenshire and the Highlands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career within the fire safety industry.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers to learn the inspection, servicing, maintenance and installation of portable fire extinguishers and associated fire safety equipment across a range of commercial and industrial customer sites. The role offers full training and development opportunities for individuals with a practical mindset, good work ethic and strong customer service skills. You will work both independently and as part of a professional team, with a focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the servicing and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers
- Learn to carry out inspections and compliance checks in accordance with BS 5306
- Assist with the installation of fire extinguishers and signage
- Complete service documentation and electronic reports
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle stock
- Provide excellent customer service while on site
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times
- Attend training courses and develop technical knowledge within the fire safety industry
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Good practical and mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional and customer focused
- Basic IT skills for electronic reporting systems
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a trade, engineering or maintenance role
- Experience working in customer-facing environments
- Interest in fire safety or the fire and security industry
