Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and support the review of statutory accounts for multiple UK legal entities in accordance with FRS 101 (c.18 entities in total).
• Ensure all close tasks are completed in line with group deadlines and internal policies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal postings, reconciliations, and audit file preparation.
• Support group reporting requirements under US GAAP, including preparation of quarterly reporting and responding to group queries.
• Review and approve journal entries prepared by FP&A and Controllership, ensuring adequate documentation and business rationale.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure consistency with financial policies and control frameworks.
• Perform quality review of balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Audit Support

• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules and responding to queries.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit deliverables.

Corporate Tax Compliance

• Oversee preparation of corporation tax computations and returns.
• Ensure timely submission of tax filings and payments to HMRC.
• Support the preparation of tax group reporting (current and deferred tax).

Compliance & Governance

• Assist in monitoring changes in accounting standards, tax rules, and climate-related disclosure requirements (e.g., TCFD, ISSB), and support impact assessments as needed.
• Help ensure accounting processes and internal controls remain aligned with corporate governance expectations and group policies.

Team Support & Development

• Line manage one direct report, supporting their development and performance.
• Promote a collaborative and high-integrity team culture with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications And Experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements under FRS 101.
• Experience with month-end close, journal processing, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Previous exposure to working with external auditors.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with IFRS and/or US GAAP reporting frameworks.
• Basic understanding of corporation tax principles and processes (experience with tax computations beneficial).
• Understanding of climate-related financial disclosures or ESG reporting obligations.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Experience in a group or multi-entity environment.
