Deckers Hospitality Group Ltd is a long-established, family-owned business based in Greater Manchester. Rooted in the hospitality sector, the Group has grown organically to combine high-quality venues with a strong commercial wholesale operation, supplying the trade with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks alongside in-house butchery products.
Independently owned, Deckers balances a professional, commercially focused approach with a supportive and collaborative working environment. Continued growth across the Group has created an opportunity to strengthen the finance function with the introduction of a new Management Accountant role at our Rochdale Head Office.
The Role
This is a newly created position reporting to the Finance Manager. The Management Accountant will join a finance team of five and play a key role in delivering timely, accurate management information, particularly for the Group’s wholesale operations. The role demands the individual to be able to adapt to the changing nature of the business and have an appetite to improve systems and processes. They need to have a team player attitude and want to contribute to the overall success of the finance team and wider business.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of monthly management accounts for the wholesale businesses
· Calculation, raising, and monitoring of retrospective discounts, ensuring accurate and timely collection
· Preparation and review of stock valuations
· Production of key performance information to support informed decision-making
· Supporting the wider finance team across reporting, analysis, and general finance duties
· Supporting the finance team on operational/ transactional decision making.
· Contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
Skills and Experience
· Proven experience preparing management accounts
· Experience of wholesale business accounting is desirable
· Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
· Self-motivated and well organised, with the ability to manage own workload
· Confident communicator, able to interpret and present financial information clearly
· Strong IT and systems literacy Systems experience (desirable): Pegasus Opera 3, Merlin, Xero
