Qualification: Level 5 Teaching Qualification (willing to shortlist those with a L3 Award in Education and Training, and ready to undertake a Level 5)
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance – this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Casual Car Documentation – The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
Manchester Adult Education has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Employability Lecturer to join our Preparation for Work team. The role will involve the planning, delivery, assessment and moderation of part time adult courses from entry level to Level 2.
Courses Within The Curriculum Area Include
Getting Work Ready short courses (CVs, application forms, interview preparation, confidence and resilience)
Entry 3 – Level 2 Employability Skills (units in searching for work, applying for work, career planning, time management, conduct at work, self management skills for work)
Level 1 award in Volunteering
Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration
Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance

As a Lecturer You Should
Have a track record of successfully delivering teaching/training on pre employment and in work progression programmes and experience with delivering to varied cohorts (seeking first employment, career transfers, upskillers)
Hold a degree and or a higher-level vocational qualification
Hold GCSE A* – C / 9 – 4 in English or equivalent (essential)
Hold GCSE A* – C / 9 – 4 in Maths or equivalent (essential)
Hold Assessors Qualifications (desirable) Or Willingness To Achieve
Hold a L5 teaching qualification (L3 essential) or willingness to achieve
Commitment to develop your teaching skills/qualifications and occupational competence (essential)

You Should Be Able To Demonstrate
Professional and academic competence/qualifications to teach on the qualifications.
Experience of adopting a range of teaching and learning strategies
Use of e-learning platforms such as Equal, Google Classroom and others or the willingness to learn
Key Accountabilities
To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard
To assess learners accurately, work both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
To teach online lessons (where appropriate) as well as teaching in our centres across the city as needed, this may involve the occasional evening class
To take some course leadership responsibilities
To take part in team meetings and working groups
To comply with the service quality assurance procedures
To comply with the service policies and procedures
To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to date in the subject area.
