What difference will you make?
This role will ensure that everything we develop is grounded in the reality of schools. While there is strong engagement and interest, the success of The How2Hub depends on whether teachers can realistically deliver it within existing pressures and structures.
By bringing direct school experience, the trustee will help the board make better-informed decisions about design, delivery and rollout. This includes ensuring alignment with curriculum expectations, Gatsby Benchmarks and inspection frameworks, as well as identifying practical barriers to adoption early.
The role will also strengthen credibility with schools and partners. Having an experienced education voice at board level demonstrates that the organisation understands the system it is working within and is building in a way that supports, rather than adds pressure to, schools.
Ultimately, the impact of this role is improved adoption and effectiveness. Well-aligned, practical delivery will enable more schools to engage, leading to more consistent access to meaningful workplace experiences for young people.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with strong, current or recent experience within schools, a MAT or senior leadership team. This could include headteachers, deputy heads, curriculum leads or senior pastoral leaders who understand how schools operate on a day-to-day basis.
The most important requirement is practical insight into how initiatives are implemented in schools. This includes understanding timetabling, staff workload, curriculum pressures and the realities of introducing new programmes. Experience of working with or delivering careers education, employer engagement or Gatsby Benchmarks would be highly valuable.
We are particularly interested in someone who can translate strategy into practice. This means being able to look at proposed ideas or programmes and quickly assess whether they are realistic, how they would land in a school setting, and what would need to change to make them workable.
Experience of working across multiple schools, such as within a MAT or local authority, would be beneficial in understanding variation and scalability. Insight into inspection frameworks, accountability measures or whole-school improvement would also add value.
We welcome applicants with lived experience aligned to our mission, particularly those who understand the barriers some young people face in accessing opportunities. This perspective will help ensure that delivery remains inclusive and accessible from the outset.

What will you be doing?
Our trustee board is being established with strengths in employer engagement, funding and finance. We are already working with schools through the Monday Club pilot and developing curriculum-linked experiences connected to real workplaces. The challenge now is ensuring what we build works in the reality of schools and can be adopted at scale.
We are seeking an education trustee with current or recent experience in schools, a MAT, or senior leadership to ground the organisation in day-to-day school practice. This role will ensure that all delivery aligns with curriculum requirements, timetabling constraints and inspection expectations, while remaining practical for teachers to implement.
A key responsibility will be shaping how our programmes fit within the curriculum and Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring that resources are usable, relevant and easy to adopt. You will help the board understand how schools make decisions, what barriers exist to engagement, and how to design around them.
You will work closely with other trustees to align education delivery with employer engagement and funding activity, ensuring that what is proposed is both credible to schools and deliverable within their environment. There is also scope to support the development of an education-focused sub-group or act as a link between the board and pilot schools.
This role is critical at this stage. The platform and delivery model are being built through real-world collaboration, and the education trustee will ensure that this translates into something that schools can confidently use and sustain. The impact of this role will be seen in stronger adoption, better classroom fit, and more consistent delivery across schools.
