Job DescriptionCompany: Senkoun Healthcare Wakering Ltd (Joseph Lodge) & Senkoun Integrated Healthcare Solutions Ltd (Joseph Nursing Home)Location: Remote / Hybrid (with occasional visits to Joseph Lodge, 399 Little Wakering Road, Barling Magna, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 0GA)Type: Internship (3–6 months, with potential for extension or full-time role based on performance)Reports to: CEO / Management TeamAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and results-driven Digital Marketing & SEO Intern to play a key role in increasing occupancy at our flagship care home, Joseph Lodge in Great Wakering / Little Wakering (Southend-on-Sea area).Your primary mission will be to drive targeted traffic and qualified enquiries for residential and dementia care placements through comprehensive SEO, Google Ads, and Meta Ads campaigns. You will work hands-on with our existing website (https://www.senkoun.co.uk/, built on Next.js + Tailwind CSS + TypeScript + Strapi CMS) and help us establish a strong local digital presence in Essex for elderly care services.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about digital marketing to gain real-world experience in a purpose-driven healthcare setting, with direct impact on residents and families in the community.Key ResponsibilitiesSEO (Primary Focus):Conduct in-depth keyword research targeting local searches (e.g., “care homes Southend”, “dementia care Great Wakering”, “residential care Essex”).Perform technical and on-page SEO audits and implement optimizations on the Next.js/Strapi site.Develop and optimize content (landing pages, blog posts, service pages) to improve organic rankings and conversions.Monitor performance using Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and other specialist tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent).Paid Advertising (Google & Meta):Set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns (Search, Performance Max, Display) and Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) focused on lead generation for Joseph Lodge.Create compelling ad copy, creatives, and audiences targeted at families and referrers in Essex and surrounding areas.Track, analyse, and report on key metrics (CPC, CTR, conversion rate, cost per enquiry, ROAS) with clear recommendations for improvement.Analytics & Reporting:Implement and maintain tracking (Google Analytics 4, conversion tracking, pixel setup).Produce weekly/monthly performance dashboards and reports showing traffic, enquiries, and ROI.Identify opportunities to improve website UX/conversion rate for care enquiries.Website & Tech Support:Make hands-on improvements to our Next.js + Tailwind + TypeScript website (content updates, basic component tweaks, Strapi CMS management).Support general digital projects, including social media content for care home promotion and email marketing if needed.Additional Tasks:Assist with local directory listings, Google Business Profile optimisation, and review management.Collaborate with the management team on marketing strategy aligned with our business plans.Provide general IT support where required (Microsoft 365 tools, basic admin tasks).Requirements & SkillsEssential:Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research/tools.Hands-on experience or solid knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 and conversion tracking.Good IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).Proficiency (or strong willingness to learn quickly) in Next.js, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, and Strapi CMS.Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to create compassionate, professional content for elderly care audiences.Self-motivated, analytical, and results-oriented with attention to detail.Desirable / Bonus:Prior experience or coursework in digital marketing, especially in healthcare, care homes, or local service businesses.Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.Portfolio of past SEO/PPC campaigns or personal projects showing measurable results.Understanding of the UK care sector or empathy for elderly care challenges.What We OfferReal responsibility and ownership of campaigns that directly impact occupancy at Joseph Lodge.Mentorship from experienced leadership (including our CEO with extensive NHS/wound care background).Opportunity to work with modern tech stack (Next.js ecosystem) and gain production-level digital marketing experience.Flexible working arrangement with potential for extension or permanent role.Exposure to the growing elderly care sector in Essex, backed by strong local authority relationships.If you are passionate about digital marketing, love data-driven decision making, and want to make a meaningful difference by helping families find high-quality care at Joseph Lodge, we’d love to hear from you!
