Job DescriptionDue to a very busy period within our business, are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join AJ Bell on a 12-month fixed-term contract, to lead the delivery of a large-scale project.This is a critical role requiring someone who has successfully delivered complex technology transformation programmes, working across Product, UX, Engineering teams, and third-party vendors.You will be responsible for driving end-to-end delivery, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, and managing dependencies in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.What you’ll do{{:}}Define and maintain project plans, milestones, and delivery roadmapsManage cross-functional collaboration between{{:}}Product ManagersProduct Development (requirements & validation)UX/UI teamsEngineering teamsThird-party vendors / delivery partnersFacilitate and drive key ceremonies (e.g. planning, RAID, steering updates)Identify, track, and mitigate risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID)Ensure alignment between business requirements, UX design, and technical deliveryManage third-party suppliers, ensuring accountability and delivery against scopeProvide clear and concise stakeholder reporting to senior leadershipSupport governance, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation, and sign-offsDrive delivery discipline while remaining adaptable to evolving requirementsWhat we’re looking for{{:}}Proven experience delivering large-scale app projectsStrong background in technology delivery within regulated environments (ideally financial services)Demonstrable experience working closely with{{:}}UX/design teamsEngineering teams (Agile environments)External vendors / third partiesExperience operating in matrixed organisation’s with multiple stakeholder groupsStrong understanding of Agile delivery, with ability to operate across Agile and traditional governance modelsTrack record of managing complex dependencies and integrationsKey SkillsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsStrong delivery focus with the ability to drive outcomes and hold teams accountableAbility to translate between technical, design, and business perspectivesProactive risk management and problem-solving mindsetHigh attention to detail with strong organisational skillsConfident facilitating discussions and challenging where neededDesirableExperience in investment platforms / fintech / wealth managementExposure to mobile app delivery (iOS/Android)Familiarity with cross-functional delivery modelsExperience working alongside Product Development / BA-type functionsWhat Success Looks LikeClear, structured delivery plan with aligned stakeholdersStrong coordination across Product, UX, and EngineeringRisks and dependencies actively managed (no surprises)Third parties effectively controlled and delivering to expectationsProject delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standardsAbout AJ BellAJ Bell is one of the UK’s fastest-growing investment platform businesses, providing award-winning solutions for everyone, from professional financial advisers to first-time investors.Today, over 723,000 customers trust us to manage more than £108.7 billion of assets.
