The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Credit Analyst in the Credit area of the Risk Department of a clearing brokers in the City of London to assist and support the Credit Risk Manager with the annual reviews and new counterparties review of margin finance, whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism to succeed in a fast-paced environment all working within core business values and Risk Framework.
Your Responsibilities
The main duties of this role will include:
• Preparation of annual credit reviews for margin finance clients, including detailed financial and credit analysis
• Participate in credit due diligence as part of the client review process
• Assess and judge the creditworthiness of existing and new counterparties and recommend appropriate credit limits
• Ensure all margin finance applications comply with Credit Policy and the business is protected as far as possible from credit risk events.
• Producing monthly and quarterly Management Information to present to Senior Management and Desk Heads/Account Executives
• Liaise with EMEA Credit Department on annual credit client renewals and new counterparties reviews
• Attend weekly committee meeting with EMEA to share and update information
• Maintain and monitor the daily suite of Credit Risk reports
• Daily review of credit client margin calls and the drivers of the margin call
• Monitor credit clients on an intraday basis using TS Imagine
• Track ongoing performance of credit clients, escalate to senior management when required
• Assist in setting of initial margin limits for all clients (Cash and Credit)
• Process annual reviews of bank and clearing counterparties
• Provide information to customers’ external auditors
• Maintain a log of client SBLC/Parental guarantees
• Engaging proactively with front office on credit related matters
• Adhere to Risk Management Framework
• Maintain Risk control
• Enhance and challenge standards as and when required
• Maintain departmental procedures
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• 1-3 years’ experience in credit analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Product knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of credit management and mitigations tools
• Strong fundamental credit analysis skill set.
• In-depth knowledge of credit analysis
• A solid understanding of accounting and financial data analysis
