Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Outside IR35 Full Time

Position: Contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Castle Donington – Hybrid/Flexible

Contract: Outside IR35

Type: Full-Time

The Role

This is an outside IR35 contract assignment working on a project involving designing a range of turbomachinery related components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Generate engineering drawings.
• Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Preparation of engineering design reports.
• Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience designing turbomachinery or related equipment, particularly blades/vanes/turbines is essential.
• Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
• Proficiency in NX software is essential.
• Strong skills in mechanical calculations and GD&T are essential.
• Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
