About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Keighley. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with complex learning needs, helping them to access education in a meaningful and supportive environment.

This role is offered on an initial temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming longer-term depending on performance and school needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD
• Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility (training provided if needed)
• Support students with sensory activities and communication strategies (eg PECS, Makaton)
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team
• Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly PMLD, is highly desirable
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
• Willingness to support personal care needs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• The right to work in the UK
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
• The ability to provide 24 months of professional references
