About The RoleThe Surveyor will support the Head of Engineering by carrying out site surveys across heat network assets and producing clear, accurate reports within agreed service level agreements (SLAs). The role is key to ensuring high-quality technical assessments, supporting maintenance planning, project delivery, and operational performance.Specific Responsibilities IncludeSite SurveysConduct site surveys across residential and commercial heat network installationsAssess plant rooms, distribution systems, HIUs, and metering setupsIdentify defects, risks, compliance issues, and optimisation opportunitiesCapture accurate survey data, photos, and asset informationReporting & DocumentationProduce clear, structured survey reports in line with company standardsDeliver reports within agreed SLA timeframesProvide recommendations for remedial works, servicing, or upgradesSupport asset registers and data quality improvementsTechnical SupportAssist the Head of Engineering with technical assessments and feasibility reviewsSupport maintenance planning with accurate condition-based insightsContribute to troubleshooting and root cause analysis where requiredCompliance & SafetyEnsure surveys are conducted in accordance with health & safety requirementsIdentify compliance gaps in relation to heat network regulations and standardsStakeholder InteractionLiaise with internal teams including Engineering, Planning, and O&M Contracts.Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersKey AttributesDetail-oriented and methodicalSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyStrong communication and reporting skillsPractical, solution focused mindsetLocation and working hours:Part-time position (60 hours per month).12 month fixed term contractCombination of site-based work and remote report writing with travel as requireRequired Skills And AttributesProven experience in a surveying, engineering, or maintenance role (ideally heat networks or building services)Strong understanding of heat network systemsAbility to produce high-quality technical reports with attention to detailStrong organisational skills with ability to meet SLA deadlinesCompetent in Microsoft Office
