We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Support Worker to join our team in the Preoperative Outpatients Team.

Main duties of the job

Role

As a Health Care Support Worker you will help patients feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. You’ll work under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on the ward you are based, but overall a typical day as a Health Care Support Worker in this role will involve:

• Recording of observations
• Carrying out ECG recordings.
• Taking blood as requested by the nursing staff.
• Taking swabs for diagnostics

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will work alongside our registered nurses to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care to our patients , based on their assessed needs.

Duties

This is a busy and varied position where teamwork is essential. You’ll help balance a range of tasks that can change throughout the day, ensuring our patients and their families feel supported and safe. Your daily duties may include:

• Monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and temperature
• Taking blood from patients as requested by the nurses and doctors
• Communicating effectively throughout the whole team.
• Carrying out ECG’s
• Some administrative tasks are required so IT skills are essential.
