This role is key to ensuring a safe, efficient and impeccably maintained environment that supports exceptional guest experiences in a luxury setting. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with UK statutory, fire, health and safety regulations, maintaining all required licenses, documentation and safety equipmentPlan, manage and personally oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations and minor projects in a hands‑on, solution‑oriented mannerLead all in‑house mechanical and electrical maintenance, ensuring rapid response to maintenance requests and discreet, guest‑friendly executionMonitor and optimize the responsible use of energy, implementing measures to improve sustainability and control energy costsPrepare and manage the engineering budget, controlling departmental payroll and expenditure in line with the hotel’s financial objectivesAct as the main point of contact and project lead for external contractors and service providers, ensuring quality, compliance and timelinessConduct regular inspections to ensure guest comfort, asset protection and uninterrupted operation across all hotel facilitiesQualificationsHow Can You Succeed in This RoleProven experience as a Chief Engineer or in a senior engineering position within the luxury hospitality sectorMinimum 5 years’ experience in hotel engineering operations with strong technical expertiseCertification or formal training in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferredStrong knowledge of UK health, safety, fire and compliance regulations within hospitality environmentsA hands‑on, self‑driven professional who thrives in a small‑scale luxury hotel environment with high levels of ownership and responsibility.
