Location: Private Residence
Reporting to: Principal / Estate Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, flexible hours (including weekends as required)
Role Overview
A highly professional and discreet Butler/Houseman is required to support the smooth day-to-day running of a private UHNW residence. This hybrid role combines formal service standards with practical, hands-on household support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards across all areas of the home.
Key Responsibilities
Butler Duties
* Provide formal and informal food and beverage service to principals and guests
* Table setting, service etiquette, and hosting support for events and dinners
* Manage pantry, silverware, glassware, and fine china care
* Anticipate principals’ needs and ensure a seamless living experience
* Greet and attend to guests with professionalism and discretion
Houseman Duties
* General household support including cleaning assistance and upkeep of communal areas
* Wardrobe assistance including packing/unpacking, garment care, and organisation
* Assist with deliveries, inventory management, and stock rotation
* Support housekeeping team with deep cleaning and seasonal tasks
* Handle basic maintenance coordination and liaise with contractors when required
Operational Support
* Assist with household logistics, errands, and ad hoc requests
* Support travel preparation and packing for principals
* Maintain high standards of presentation across the property at all times
* Work collaboratively with other household staff to ensure smooth operations
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a similar role within a private UHNW household
* Strong knowledge of formal service and household operations
* Hands-on, flexible, and willing to assist across departments
* High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Well-presented with strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules
Desirable Skills
* Silver service training or equivalent
* Experience with wardrobe management and garment care
* Basic handyman/maintenance awareness
* Driving licence (preferred)

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
