The Business Analyst acts as the voice of the business , ensuring that business needs are correctly understood, captured, validated, and translated into actionable delivery outputs.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in insurance change initiatives, preferably within the insurance underwriting domain, and will be comfortable working in iterative delivery. They must be able to bridge business and technology teams, ensuring business outcomes are delivered effectively.This is a delivery focused role requiring close collaboration business stakeholders and development teams through analysis, build, and testing phases.Responsibilities Represent underwriting stakeholders within the delivery team, ensuring requirements reflect the business needs. Act as primary liaison between SMEs and the delivery team. Lead regular playback sessions, backlog reviews, and requirement gathering workshops. Define, document, prioritise, and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring outcomes are clear and measurable. Capture user stories relating and ensure each user story is complete. Collaborate closely with test team to define testing scope for underwriting scenarios and ensure test coverage underwriting processes Support triage of defects Provide structured, timely updates and communicate progress, risks, and requirement changes. Qualifications BCS Business Analysis International Diploma (or equivalent) Essential Skills Strong business analysis experience within the London Market or specialty insurance. Hands ‑ on Dynamics CRM skillset who can actively help drive delivery, challenge requirements and design decisions, and operate confidently in day ‑ to ‑ day Dynamics ‑ centric workshops and sprint activities Demonstrable understanding of underwriting processes and experience working with underwriting systems. Working knowledge of BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation) Ability to translate underwriting needs into well‑structured user stories and acceptance criteria. Strong facilitation skills across both technical and underwriting stakeholders. Experience working in iterative or Agile environments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in ambiguous or complex risk environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity for different audiences. Experience Experience working on commercial insurance lines, ideally vehicle, marine, or other high-value asset insurance. Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance sector, with strong knowledge of underwriting processes.
