Job DescriptionThe main purpose of this role is to be the Club’s in‑house building systems architect and a technical authority for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) systems, in this pivotal role, you’ll help shape safe, resilient, and low‑carbon building services. Working in tandem with system owners in Estate Management and Project Delivery teams, you’ll guide the design, performance and improvement of our building systems. Drawing on internal specialists and external consultants for complex or specialist tasks to ensure our facilities are innovative, efficient and future ready.What You Will Be DoingGeneralUnderstand facility performance and decarbonisation to optimise building opportunities whilst reducing energy consumption and carbon omissions.Accountable for ensuring MEP designs meet AELTC benchmarks, British Standards, and current regulations, enabling easy integration into existing and future estate infrastructure.Work to the project process and specific deliverables in conjunction with gateways and milestone commitments.Review and coordinate technical submittals, specifications, programmes, and commissioning plans to bridge capital project delivery and operations.Provide technical assurance for mechanical, electrical, and controls elements within capital and estate projects, supporting the soft‑landings process.Support colleagues in maintaining the operation, condition, safety and continuity of mechanical and electrical assets.Identify strategic opportunities in the long term.Controls, BMS/BEMS & Digital SystemsSupport the systems owner in developing and delivering a continuous improvement strategy for the Building Management System, ensuring resilience and efficiency are maintained.Support Estates Management and Project Delivery teams as an intelligent client by ensuring BMS specifications and controls philosophies are consistently applied through design, construction, commissioning, and operation.Thermal Networks (CHW / LTHW) Integration and DecarbonisationMaintain a detailed understanding of chilled water and low‑temperature hot water systems across the estate, working with colleagues to optimise resilience, efficiency and compatibility.Support definition of MEP system requirements for new and existing buildings and facilities, ensuring they are electric heat‑network‑ready and aligned with future asset strategy.Provide input on energy strategies and optimisation opportunities.Infrastructure Records & Asset InformationOwn and maintain the MEP infrastructure records, ensuring updates are incorporated into base schematics and controlled documentation, including Building Information Management (BIM) model.Assure record information and certification for technical compliance and system assurance.Ensure that a fit for purpose change process is maintained to inform/update the owners of the base drawings and Assets Database are kept up to date with alterations.Electrical InfrastructureMaintain understanding of infrastructure networks and systems operations.Support development of MEP standards, requirements and quality assurance.What part your role will play in The ChampionshipsProvide support as required to all departments throughout The Championships inclusive of technical support across the Estate team.Monitor and record estate performance to inform future development.About youAn experienced MEP engineer with at least eight years relevant experience that enables provides you the ability to design, review, and assure complex mechanical and electrical distribution systems.Will be in possession of a wide range of experience in HVAC, BMS, electrical and other mechanical systems with the ability to convey complex concepts to a wide audience.Will hold Chartered status or equivalent engineering status.Strong communicator able to influence and communicate with various stakeholders.Skilled in programme planning, budgeting, and delivery under pressure.Detail-oriented with a focus on performance and efficiency.Innovative, collaborative, and delivery focused.Driven by efficiency.Competent in the production of technical design, engineering and construction methods.Experience in managing and delivering projects from conception to completion under a Design and Build JCT contract.Able to take part in commissioning witness activities (mechanical, electrical, controls) and ensure all building services integrate properly into estate operations and digital systems.About usThe All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited (AELTC) organises and stages The Championships, Wimbledon, widely regarded as the world’s premier tennis tournament, hosted on the Grounds of one of the world’s most prestigious tennis clubs.Our business has grown in recent years, and we expect that success to continue.
