At Dalkia, we combine technical expertise with a passion for innovation to deliver exceptional engineering solutions. We’re seeking a proactive Building Fabric Maintenance Operative to join our team at Heysham 2 on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating and delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across multiple disciplines – including civils, building fabric maintenance, carpentry, and plumbing.
You’ll contribute directly to maintaining operational excellence by ensuring safety, compliance, and quality standards are met, while working closely with subcontractors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver a wide range of civils, carpentry, plumbing and building fabric maintenance across the site.
• Lead, coordinate, and supervise PPM and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring schedules, standards, and budgets are met.
• Support other trades across the station.
• Oversee subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring safe and efficient site operations.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture, complying with Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• Conduct routine site audits and spot checks to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Support the operation and maintenance of key facilities, including the training centre, visitor centre, and administrative buildings.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Background in one or more of the following: carpentry, plumbing, civils, or building maintenance.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance and management systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong organisational skills.
