We are seeking passionate, driven individuals to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) as Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs). About The Role
This is a 12-month fixed-term training post, combining:
- Full-time postgraduate study
- Clinical practice within MHST services
You will be supported to develop core competencies in delivering low-intensity mental health interventions, whilst working directly with children, young people, families, and education settings.
This is an intensive programme requiring full commitment, resilience and strong organisational skills, as you will be balancing academic study alongside clinical delivery and service expectations.

Essential Requirements Please Read Carefully
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be able to commit to full-time hours (37.5 hours per week) part-time working is not available.
- Be able to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract only.
- Be able to travel extensively to university in Northampton, including daily attendance during initial stages of the course.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship – we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who already have the right to work in the UK.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Experience within mental health, SEND, or education settings (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and manage competing demands
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to study and perform at postgraduate level
