About The Role

TC Stiles & Co are looking for an experienced audit and accounts professional to join the team in Maidenhead. This is a new role to focus on dealing with small/medium limited companies, audits, sole traders and partnerships.
The role would suit someone who has been working in a small or medium general practice providing all round accounting and taxation services.
We’re able to consider candidates who are part or newly qualified ACCA/ACA and can provide study support for ACCA/ACA exams.
Key responsibilities will vary depending on level but will include:
- All aspects of audit, accounts and taxation work for small/medium companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Assist directors with client meetings and be able to deal with client queries on accounting, payroll and taxation matters, identifying any issues that require further investigation and advice
- Assist with new clients to ensure a smooth on boarding of the client into our internal systems, identify and register with HMRC for relevant taxes, advice new clients of bookkeeping requirements.
- Preparation of year end accounts assignments, corporation tax computations and management accounts
- Preparation of some larger year end accounts assignments, corporation tax computations, management accounts
- Review of VAT returns and bookkeeping
- Assistant senior staff in respect of audit assignments such as audit testing and analysis.
- Direct communication with clients to raise and resolve queries
- Maintain close contact with clients throughout engagements to ensure continuing good relations and the effective completion of work, in particular with reoccurring assignments
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- At least 2 years general practice experience and be competent in bookkeeping, VAT, accounts preparation and some taxation work (drafting of corporation tax computation) for small/medium companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- AAT Qualified or part of the way through ACCA/ACA exams.
- Ideally have some general tax knowledge, in particular with VAT
- Knowledge of CCH Accounts Preparation/Audit Automation, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero software would be advantageous
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Products
- Sound professional sense
- Good communication and written skills, in particular when communicating with clients
- Good at developing client relationships
- Hands on approach with enthusiasm for continued development
- Able to work on own initiative, in particular with regards to bookkeeping, VAT and small accounts preparation assignments
- Organised, able to meet deadlines and self-reliant
- Ability to assess priorities and make decisions
- Must have a driving licence and own a car
