We’re looking for an Assistant Web Officer to join our small but ambitious Web Team, as we continue to deliver websites with a high-quality, customer-focused vision.
Additional resource is sought at this busy time; the Assistant Web Officer role is key to achieving our goal, as their day-to-day responsibilities support the changing and dynamic project environment.
We’re seeking someone with experience in authoring and managing engaging online content that’s user-friendly and compatible with modern technology, whilst remaining cyber-secure and within accessibility regulations.
We’re looking for candidates who have excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills. You’ll possess knowledge of content management and search engine optimisation.
Experience with Microsoft, Adobe, and Jadu software will be advantageous to ‘hit-the-ground-running’. The post requires some skills in HTML and CSS coding, a firm understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and an ability to write in plain English is essential.
A willingness to learn and develop, in addition to a positive attitude towards collaborative working, is essential; knowledge of local government would be helpful.
If you’re looking for a new challenge, to develop your career, or you’re interested in the diversity of work a Local Authority could offer, we welcome your application.
This post is suitable as a job share opportunity.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
